Variants made of plastic or gray cast iron
The HDS switchgear series for heavy industry from Schmersal is a modular series that combines various functions on one platform.
The platform is based on the standardized housing concept, which consists of two variants: plastic (duroplast) and grey cast iron. The plastic version is resistant to aggressive media and can therefore be used particularly in port logistics or in loading and unloading operations, as well as in the agricultural industry, which processes fertilizers, minerals and phosphates. The robust gray cast iron version is suitable for use in mining and in the bulk goods and conveying industry, for example. There are also two basic function variants: the EMERGENCY STOP, designed as an emergency pull-wire switch, and position monitoring. The basic position monitoring switch can be flexibly combined with different actuating elements. Typical applications include EMERGENCY STOP shutdown, belt misalignment monitoring when conveying bulk materials, end position monitoring in steel production or monitoring the fill level in material silos. IP66 and IP67 degrees of protection ensure that the switchgear can be used in extreme environmental conditions. All basic versions can optionally be connected to the 'Dupline' installation bus or to AS-i Safety at Work. All switching devices meet the requirements for a safety switch.
