Eric Brabänder takes over as CEO of Empolis
Software provider Empolis underwent a leadership change effective July 1, 2026: Eric Brabänder is taking over asCEO from Andreas Klüter. The long-time product and AI expert has been a member of the company’s executive board since 2018.
Empolis Information Management GmbH has made a change in its management team. Effective July 1, 2026, Eric Brabänder has been leading the Kaiserslautern-based company, which specializes in AI-based knowledge management for industrial applications and is part of the Proalpha Group. He succeeds Andreas Klüter, who shaped the company’s development over many years.
Brabänder has been a member of Empolis's executive management team since 2018. Most recently, as Senior Vice President of Products & Marketing, he was responsible for the company's product strategy and the market launch of its SaaS solutions.
The industrial engineer holds a degree in business engineering and has about 25 years of experience in the software industry. Before joining Empolis, he held various management positions at companies including Porsche, IDS Scheer, Software AG, and FNT. He also teaches product management at Aalen University. From 2022 to May 2026, Brabänder also served as a board member of the Industry 4.0 network SmartFactory-KL.
This leadership transition marks the end of Andreas Klüter’s long tenure at Empolis. He has held various positions at the company since 2004. As managing director, he was responsible for expanding the software provider’s business in the field of industrial AI and knowledge management solutions beginning in 2018.
