Micro-Epsilon is expanding its portfolio of solutions for 3D surface inspection with the Reflectcontrol and Surfacecontrol systems, which can be used to check the quality of glossy and matt surfaces using deflectometry and structured light projection respectively.
The laser profile scanners in the Scancontrol series work almost independently of the surface and generate 3D point clouds that can be used for further evaluation and processing. 'Reflectcontrol' is used for the surface inspection of reflective parts. The compact deflectometry sensor - consisting of a screen for fringe projection and two cameras - can be integrated stationary or guided over the measurement object on the robot. The localized deviations or defects are evaluated and displayed in the CAD data. Sensors from the 'Surfacecontrol' series inspect diffuse surfaces such as metallic surfaces (uncoated, galvanized, KTL), plastic surfaces and ceramics. The sensor belonging to the system records the surface and delivers a 3D point cloud.
