Transmission technology
Distances of 100 meters possible
B&R has introduced the fourth generation of Smart Display Link (SDL) display transmission technology. SDL4 is based on HDBaseT 2.0.
This technology allows screen content and other data to be transmitted over long distances - up to 100 m between the PC and display device. This means that several remote panels can be installed for extensive machines and systems. SDL4 also uses standard Ethernet cables for data transmission. This reduces cable costs over longer distances. According to the manufacturer, the slim cables with the small RJ45 connector are ideal for confined spaces in feed-throughs and support arm systems. A converter allows up to three panels to be connected to one automation PC. In addition, a fourth Automation panel with different image content can be operated via a further interface. The transmission technology is independent of software and operating systems and integrates all communication channels such as USB, touchscreen and function keys into a single cable. The technology transmits all signals uncompressed and in high resolutions.
