Valve controls
Control up to four valves simultaneously
Precise dosing, for example for adhesive or liquid applications, requires equally precise control of valves. The 'S-Dias' module CO 041 from Sigmatek offers four current-controlled PWM outputs for this purpose.
These can also be operated as pulse outputs, for example to address micro-metering valve control units. Four digital +5 V inputs are also integrated. A maximum of four valves can be controlled simultaneously with the module. The possible supply voltage of the valves is in the range from 18 to 55 V, the maximum holding current is 1 A with a maximum inrush current of 3.5 A. The switch-on and lowering currents are adjustable to ensure good, dynamic behavior of the valve. The period frequency of the holding current can be selected from 30 Hz to 20 kHz. When configured as pulse outputs (push-pull), the maximum current per channel is 1 A and the minimum switch-on time is 50 µs. Regardless of how the outputs are used, the switch-on and switch-off delay can be set in 1-µs steps from 0 to 32.77 ms. The module is overload, overtemperature and short-circuit proof. It also allows stand-alone operation without a CPU, in which case the integrated four digital inputs (TTL level) are used to directly control the respective outputs. In this case, the user can preconfigure the values for inrush current, holding current and holding current period duration as required. The parameters then remain permanently stored on the module.
