Rotary encoders for safety-related applications
With the TRK38, TWK presents a singleturn magnetic encoder developed with a focus on safety-related applications. With a diameter of just 38 mm and a length of 38 mm, the sensor is suitable for installation in confined spaces.
Weighing around 60 g, the safety encoder detects position and speed in a safety-oriented manner and meets the requirements of SIL 2 (IEC 61508) and Performance Level d (EN 13849). Its position resolution is 16 bits per revolution. The certified Ethercat FSoE interface ensures that the safety-related signals are transmitted to the higher-level controller or a safety relay and that the sensor is programmed.
Thanks to its aluminum housing and overall design, the device works reliably even under unfavorable conditions such as vibration and shock loads, not least due to the non-contact, wear-free measuring principle.
