Telematics
Use with mobile machinery
The members of the ESX-TC1 family from STW are telematics platforms for mobile machinery. Specific applications are addressed in three communication variants.
What they all have in common is free programmability, broad software support and the ability to connect to the company's own IoT platform 'machines.cloud'. The three variants take into account the different communication behavior in different applications. Based on the 'ESX-TC3G', the devices can be used as on-board data loggers for communication with controllers and sensors via CANbus. CANopen, SAE J1939 and open CAN communication are supported. The 'Vehicle Data System (VDS)' software can be used to configure which CANbus parameters are recorded, stored in the 1 GB data memory and then forwarded. Thanks to the free programming options offered by the devices' embedded Linux system, the data can also be pre-processed and evaluated on the module. All variants can be forwarded via Ethernet or the respective wireless interface. The 'TC1-WiFi' and the 'TC1-WiFi+' are equipped with WLAN and Bluetooth 4.0, addressing applications that collect data during the day and allow access to a WiFi hotspot with an Internet connection in the evening. Alternatively, the 'TC1-WiFi(+)' can also act as a hotspot itself so that the data can be accessed via a laptop or tablet.
