Gateways
Machine access via radio
Anybus Wireless Bolt is a compact wireless gateway from HMS which, with its design and integrated antenna, is designed for use directly on the machine.
WLAN (2.4 or 5 GHz) and Bluetooth are supported. When used as an access point, the wireless gateway provides wireless access to the control network so that machines can be configured, parameterized and operated via tablet or smartphone. The current operating status of the machine, production quantities or diagnostic data can also be queried wirelessly. This makes the "Bring Your Own Device" (BYOD) concept a reality. According to the manufacturer, the wireless gateway is a cost-effective alternative to permanently installed HMIs, particularly for interlinked systems such as printing or packaging machines. The device in an IP67 housing combines connection, communication processor and integrated antenna in one unit. The range of the wireless connection is up to 100 m. The connection to the machine controller is established via Ethernet. Regardless of the communication method, the same connection is always used for power supply and communication (2×9p pin header). The wireless gateway can be either an access point or a wireless bridge.
