Improved brightness efficiency

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has announced the launch of a new 7.0-inch TFT LCD module for industrial applications.

This module offers the following features: high-resolution WXGA pixel matrix (1280 x 768 pixels), 176° horizontal/vertical viewing angle ('Super Wide View'), high brightness (1000 cd/m2) and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Flexible brightness control from 1 % to 100 % is designed to ensure readability in any ambient brightness. The newly developed LED backlight improves brightness efficiency by 30% (comparable to a conventional LED backlight of the same brightness) and contributes to low power consumption and reduced heat generation. Robust components are designed to ensure use in extreme environments from -40 to +80° C. The optimized mechanical design achieves a vibration resistance of 6.8 g for compression mounting - 7 times stronger than conventional Mitsubishi Electric 'AA ...' products. With compression mounting, the LCD frame is pressed against the chassis from behind for mounting. With conventional mounting via threaded holes on the side, the vibration resistance is 2 g.
