Control cabinet wiring
Divide into sub-projects
Solution provider Eplan presents version 2.8 of Eplan Smart Wiring, which is designed to optimize the process of wiring control cabinets. The first key innovation, which also supports collaborative engineering, is the ability to divide projects into sub-projects.
For larger switchgear systems, several people often work on one project. In order to break it down into individual areas, sub-projects can now be filtered - for example, the view of just one enclosure of a five-fold bay or a specific mounting plate. With this new project planning approach, subcontractors can be integrated into the digital workflow. It is now also possible to visualize wire chains. If two wires end in a connection point, the wiring engineer works conventionally with double end sleeves. Now these connection points must also be clearly identified in the system. According to the manufacturer, this has been simplified by new color coding of wire chains. The next core function of the new features is optimized graphics handling, which allows new scope for handling graphics data thanks to the extended user interface in version 2.8.
