Touch panels
Designed for mobile machines
The automotive glass system is a touch panel designed for use in mobile machinery.
According to the manufacturer, the 12.1-inch multi-touch display with a brightness of 1600 cd/m2 ensures perfect readability even in intense sunlight. The light sensor integrated in the front glass adjusts the display background to the light conditions in the surroundings. The display illumination offers a half-life of 60,000 operating hours. Computing power is provided by an iMX6 QuadCore 1 GHz processor from NXP. With 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of NAND flash, even complex software applications should run smoothly and efficiently. The housing of the device is made of anodized aluminium and has a device depth of 41 mm and weighs 2.4 kg. The computer can be configured so that it starts the boot process when the ignition signal is applied and is therefore ready for use in a matter of seconds. The voltage peaks that are often unavoidable in heavier machines are intercepted by a load dump protection circuit integrated into the hardware. The redundant CAN interface, several serial interfaces, numerous USB interfaces and a 1 GByte Ethernet connection are used for communication.
