Control from a long distance
Kontron presents the first systems with Widelink support. This transmission method makes it possible to operate remote visualization systems and operating panels at a distance of up to 100 meters from the control computer.
The company is presenting the technology for the first time in conjunction with the new KBox-C-102 series designed for control cabinet installation and the equally new Kontron Fusionview as a decentralized visualization unit. Widelink is an operating system-independent transmission method according to IEEE1911, with which data communication between the remote display and the control computer is realized via a standard CAT6 Ethernet cable. The transmission method includes the digital signals for the screen, the feedback from the touch interface as well as USB and audio signals and also the power supply. As the image data is not converted and processed via the CPU, the operating panel or visualization system displays the content at the same speed and quality as it is generated in the control computer, according to the manufacturer. The image data is transmitted uncompressed and in a resolution of up to Full HD.
