eks Engel has developed the e-light 1000XS-G and e-light 1000XS-GP Ethernet media converters especially for industrial applications such as networking machines or connecting IP cameras.

The devices each have an electrical and an optical port that support data rates of up to 1 Gbit/s. A cut-through mode enables delay-free communication without buffering thanks to extremely short latency times. The e-light 1000XS-GP can also be used to supply end devices via PoE/PoE+ with an output of 30 W or a maximum current of 600 mA. The DIN rail-mountable media converters have a housing made of powder-coated stainless steel. As this measures just 85 mm × 63 mm × 26 mm, they can also be installed in tight spaces such as small distribution boxes. Extensive immunity to electromagnetic interference and a temperature range of -40 to +70 °C ensure reliable operation. The media converters are available for single-mode and multimode fibers, which enable transmission distances of up to 30 km and are connected via SC connectors. The electrical RJ45 port supports auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDI-X. The status of the 54 V (DC) power supply, PoE support and the data connection are indicated by LEDs on the front panel.
