Drive controller
Only 45 mm width
The SI6 drive controller from Stöber in modular technology has a width of just 45 mm. It can be used to save on redundant power supply units.
As the drive controllers are connected to a central supply module, there is no need for fuses and cabling for each individual axis. The drive controllers are connected to each other via 'Quick DC-Link' modules. The use of double-axis modules means that unused power reserves of one axis can be used for other axes. In conjunction with the supplier's 'EZ401' synchronous servo motor, the drive controller accelerates from 0 to 3000 rpm in 10 ms. Changes in speed can be precisely controlled. The interaction between the drive controller, servo motor and encoder is crucial for this.
The drive controller processes encoder information up to 64 bits and calculates it without rounding errors (floating point arithmetic). This results in positioning accuracy with more than 33 million encoder positions per revolution. In conjunction with the encoder communication via Hiperface DSL, a common cable connection with the power connection is available.
The motor data is parameterized via an electronic motor nameplate, which is available digitally via Hiperface DSL or EnDat 2.2. The safety concept includes the STO (Safe Torque Off) function, which can be controlled both via terminals and via Fail Safe over Ethercat (FSoE). The drive controller is therefore classified as Performance Level e (Cat. 4) in accordance with EN 13849-1.
