Drive controller
Modular interface concept
The flexible SD6 is part of Stöber's family of stand-alone and modular drive controllers for multi-axis applications. The single-axis controller with a rated output current of up to 85 A controls linear and rotary synchronous servomotors as well as asynchronous motors.
Thanks to its modular interface concept and extensive range of accessories, it can be configured to fit perfectly. Communication modules for CANopen, Ethercat or Profinet are available for connection to a higher-level control system. A new addition to the product portfolio is the 'SE6' safety module, with which the 'SD6' drive controller can be optionally equipped. This makes it suitable for safety-relevant applications up to SIL 3, PL e (Cat. 4) in accordance with DIN 61800-5-2 or DIN EN ISO 13849-1. The short worst-case response time of <10 ms enables fast shutdown and minimization of safety distances. Other features include safe brake management, which consists of safe brake control (SBC) and safe brake test with test cycle monitoring (SBT). In addition to the STO, SS1 and SS2 stop functions, SE6 also enables functions for safe motion monitoring. The Safely-Limited Speed (SLS) and Safe Speed Range (SSR) functions ensure that the drive does not exceed the configured speed limit values. Safe Direction (SDI) monitors the projected direction of movement, Safely-Limited Increment (SLI) limits the increment. Safe Operating Stop (SOS) monitors the active standstill. Practicality was the main focus of the joint development with Pilz. This means that all safety functions up to SIL 3, PL e (Cat. 4) can be used.
