For optical compartment fine positioning

With the IPS 400i camera-based positioning sensor for storage and retrieval machines, Leuze electronic is expanding its 'IPS' series with a variant for optical compartment fine positioning.

The sensor detects circular holes or reflectors not only in single-deep but also double-deep racking and thus determines the position deviation in the X and Y directions relative to the target position. This makes it particularly suitable for double-deep pallet high-bay warehouses.
A version with integrated heating is available for use in cold stores down to -30 °C. Commissioning is carried out using a web-based configuration tool with a user-guided installation wizard. Printed parameterization codes are read in without a PC via a 'code generator', enabling configuration adjustments to be made directly on the storage and retrieval machine.
An alignment system with four feedback LEDs further simplifies commissioning.

Thanks to its IR LED illumination, which is independent of ambient light, trouble-free use in warehouse technology is possible with just a single device for a working range of up to 2400 mm. The sensor from Leuze can be integrated directly into the network environment via the Ethernet TCP/IP interface and Profinet RT. Condition monitoring and predictive maintenance are carried out via a quality indicator that detects a deterioration in the reading performance of the sensor at an early stage.
