Displacement measurement for measuring lengths up to 5750 mm
ASM has a sensor solution for hydraulic cylinders which, according to the supplier, considerably simplifies installation and maintenance: posichron EasyMount is an absolute, non-contact and wear-free displacement measuring system for measuring lengths of up to 5750 mm.
The core of the system is a strong, maintenance-free magnet that is mounted inside the cylinder. The sensor itself is mounted on the outside of the hydraulic cylinder, so no deep hole drilling is required for installation. In the event of maintenance or repair, the sensor is easily accessible from the outside. This means that sensors can also be fitted to small piston diameters with limited installation space, where there is no room for internal mounting.
Installation in synchronized cylinders is also possible. Redundant sensor configurations are possible up to four times. Various designs are available (including rod, profile and ultra-flat profile versions), the protection class is up to IP68/IP69. The sensors achieve a linearity of up to 0.02 % of the measuring length.
