SensoPart and Cambrian Robotics
Partnership for 3D-Guided Robotics
Cambrian Robotics and SensoPart are collaborating on a solution for AI-powered 3D robotic applications. The combination of vision sensors and AI software is designed to reduce integration efforts and facilitate the detection of complex components in automated processes.
Cambrian Robotics and SensoPart have entered into a strategic partnership. Together, the companies are developing a solution for 3D-guided robotic applications that combines vision sensor hardware with AI-based image processing software. The goal is to simplify the implementation of complex gripping and positioning tasks in industrial automation.
SensoPart's camera hardware captures image data for various working distances and object types. Cambrian Robotics' AI software processes this data and uses it to generate three-dimensional information for robot guidance. The AI models are trained in a cloud environment, which is intended to reduce the need for time-consuming parameterization.
Recognition of Complex Components
As the use of robots increases, so do the demands placed on industrial machine vision. Objects must be precisely detected, localized, and prepared for subsequent process steps even when their orientation varies. Conventional systems reach their limits in situations involving irregular geometries, reflective surfaces, or unordered bulk materials, among other challenges.
The joint solution is intended to be used in particular for detecting and picking complex components from boxes or other containers. According to the companies, the system can reliably detect workpieces with varying shapes, orientations, or challenging surfaces, as well as transparent packaging, metal parts, plastic components, and housing elements under changing lighting conditions.
