Schmersal has launched the RFID-based AZM40 solenoid interlock, which, with dimensions of 119.5 mm × 40 mm × 20 mm, is the smallest electronic solenoid interlock in the world. Thanks to the 180° angular flexibility of the actuator, it can be infinitely adjusted to the AZM40 so that the guard locking can also be used for flaps that do not close at a 90° angle or that open upwards at a 45° angle. The coded safety switches 'PSENcode' from Pilz, which are based on RFID transponder technology, now offer a further solution for space-critical applications: According to the manufacturer, the PSENcode low profile actuator, which is only 3 mm high, is currently the lowest actuator in the world.
