The sensor system - as a certified sensor technology in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1 category 3 PL d - is used to safeguard hazardous areas on mobile machinery such as robots and industrial trucks or machines and systems. Up to two freely positionable ultrasonic sensor units can be positioned, connected and parameterized flexibly and geometrically independently of the electronics. The protective function is already provided with just one sensor unit (without redundancy).

The safety devices from Pepperl+Fuchs can be integrated into confined installation spaces and detect moving and stationary objects of any shape, color or surface in an elliptical, three-dimensional sound field of up to 2.5 meters. Neither dirt, temperature, air flow nor humidity affect the function of the sensor. Two short-circuit and cross-circuit monitored safety outputs OSSDs are available for each connected sensor unit.
