The update makes it possible to transfer additional information on the sensor status directly to the control system via the Profinet protocol. Users can thus benefit from directly evaluating the temperature inside the sensor, total operating hours or the total distance covered by the magnets in order to carry out predictive maintenance cycles or machine condition monitoring measures.

The Temposonics sensor series also includes an update of the Profinet profiles: For example, the encoder profile has been updated to version V4.2 and the MTS profile. The sensor and the associated description file have been certified by the PNO. The sensors are available in rod and profile form. Thanks to improved components, the series supports an extended operating temperature range between -40 and +85 °C. In addition, the shock resistance has been increased to 150 g and the vibration resistance to 30 g.
