Helmut Schmid takes over management

Helmut Schmid has been the new Managing Director at deep-tech company Franka Emika since July 1. In Schmid, the Munich-based company has brought a well-connected cobot expert on board, who helped Universal Robots become the market leader in the cobot sector during his many years as Managing Director and Regional Sales Director for Western and Northern Europe. Schmid also founded the German Robotics Association. The DRV aims to dispel the prejudice that robot automation is expensive and complicated.

Franka Emika developed a robotic arm with the aim of making robotics solutions more widely accessible. Companies of different industries and sizes should be able to entrust tedious, time-consuming, monotonous and potentially dangerous work to their one-armed helpers and thus automate themselves - regardless of whether it is a matter of large-scale production or tailor-made custom scenarios with low volumes for a wide variety of application scenarios.
