The Schatz Group develops, produces and sells laboratory systems for analyzing bolted joints, calibration equipment and testing systems for torque tools as well as portable measuring systems for random sample testing. The company also offers the associated network software and the necessary calibration and repair service.

In 2015, the group generated sales of just under EUR 16 million and employs 75 people at its sites in Remscheid (DE) and Holly (USA).

Following the takeover, the Schatz Group's products and services will be distributed via the global Kistler sales network. "This will give us better access to international markets and open up completely new growth prospects, not least because of the complementary product portfolios," explains Dr. Volker Schatz, CEO of Schatz AG.

"For Kistler, the acquisition is a logical step in the implementation of our overarching growth strategy," explains Rolf Sonderegger, CEO of the Kistler Group. We want to cover further dedicated applications with our measurement technology and increasingly offer complete systems and targeted services."

Kistler employs around 1500 people at 56 locations worldwide. The Kistler Group has been growing since it was founded in 1959 and achieved sales of CHF 329 million in 2015. Around 10 % of this goes back into research and development.
