Products for integrated quality assurance in the manufacturing industry are already part of Kistler's portfolio. By acquiring an MES software solution, Kistler now wants to go one step further. "Having our own MES solution for end-to-end linking of corporate management with the production level is of strategic importance to us as a solution provider," says Rolf Sonderegger, CEO Kistler Group. "In future, our customers will benefit from a complete modular solution with monitoring, control and reporting functions for the entire value chain." The initial focus is on applications in plastics processing. Later, the MES expertise will be extended to other business areas. "IOS is a long-standing partner with whom we have many joint customers and successful projects," says Rolf Sonderegger.

Exchange with RWTH Aachen

In addition to gaining expertise, the aim of the acquisition is also to establish a corresponding competence center. This will deepen the existing close exchange with the renowned scientific institute at RWTH Aachen University, the think tank for Industry 4.0. The expansion of the site is already being planned in order to drive forward Kistler's product development in the field of Industry 4.0 and IoT (Internet of Things).
