Enormous growth potential
According to a recent study, the German IIoT market will more than double in the next five years - to around EUR 16.8 billion in sales in 2022. Two sectors are showing particularly strong growth.
The study "The German Industrial IoT market 2017-2022. Facts and figures" was published by eco - Association of the Internet Industry and the management consultancy Arthur D. Little. The following picture gallery shows the most important results:
In the study, the figures on the size of the market and the individual market segments as well as the further segmentation were determined on the basis of data from eco and Arthur D. Little. Various secondary sources from associations (BIU, VATM, etc.), publications from the Federal Statistical Office and other services (e.g. Destatis and Statista) as well as numerous expert interviews were also used.
