Module platforms in three form factors
Kontron presents three form factors with the next generation of Intel Atom processors.
The three platforms COM Express Compact Type 6 with COMe-cEL6, COM Express Mini Type 10 with COMe-mEL10 and SMARC modules with SMARC-sXEL from Kontron support the broad scalability of the Intel processors of the 'Atom x6000' series as well as the Intel Pentium and Celeron N and J series, which were specially developed for IoT applications. The portfolio ranges from the 2-core to the 4-core solution with up to 3 GHz burst frequency.
The modules are suitable for robust industrial and real-time environments. They combine the latest 10 nm computing and Intel UHD graphics technologies with many integrated functions and I/Os within a platform solution for IoT applications. A 14 nm Platform Control Hub (PCH) is used to increase computing density and system performance. With up to four CPU and 32 GPU cores, single-thread performance can be improved by up to 1.7 times and graphics performance by up to 2 times compared to the previous generation, with a maximum power of up to 12 W TDP (Thermal Design Power). All three module solutions offer industrial-grade versions that are specified for the industrial temperature range of -40 to +85 °C. The modules come with BSP support for Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Linux and VxWorks 7.0.
