TSN-capable embedded solution supports 8 Gbyte memory

The Smarc-sAL28 module from Kontron in the short-size form factor with a size of 82 mm x 50 mm complies with the Smarc 2.1 standard and has an NXP Dual Cortex A72-LS1028A processor and a 3D GPU.

Up to five TSN-capable 1 Gbit Ethernet ports and up to 8 Gbytes of memory are available.

The module is available in three versions, which can be adapted to individual customer requirements: The first version has two TSN-capable 1 Gbit Ethernet ports that can be used directly by the carrier; the second has one TSN-capable 1 Gbit Ethernet port. The third version offers six Ethernet ports with PHY on the carrier, five of which are TSN-capable. All variants support up to 8 Gbyte DDR3L non-ECC or ECC memory down and have a 3D GPU as well as eMMC 5.1 onboard memory between 2 and 64 Gbyte. According to the provider, the interfaces also include one SDIO, four serial, one I2S, two I2C, two SPI, twelve GPIO and one CAN.
