Artificial intelligence at the edge
The compact Kontron AI platform consists of an M.2 module with the Google Coral accelerator for the software ecosystem 'Tensorflow' (lite) on a 2.5 inch 'pITX' single board computer with the NXP i.MX8 processor.
The Dedicated Tensor Processing Acceleration Unit supports small and low-power applications from two TOPS per watt up to four TOPS (trillion operations per second) and 30 frames/s can be processed.
The platform can be used at -40 to +85 °C and supports Debian Linux and Windows 10. All applications from Tensorflow can be downloaded and custom applications can be developed for neural networks and deep learning for object recognition, classification and quality inspection of objects. According to Kontron, the platform will also be available with an Intel Atom SBC from the first quarter of 2021.
