Hannover Messe Digital Edition
Apply now for the Hermes Award
The Hermes Award will also be presented as part of the Hannover Messe Digital Edition. Applications are still possible until March 12.
The Hermes Award will be presented on April 12, 2021 as part of the Hannover Messe Digital Edition. Companies and institutions participating in the virtual trade fair can still apply for the industry prize here until March 12.
The criteria of technological innovation, benefits for industry, the environment and society, cost-effectiveness and readiness for implementation play a key role in the assessment of the award. A jury chaired by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, will nominate three products from the submissions for the Hermes Award and select the winner from this group. The Federal Minister of Education and Research, Anja Karliczek, will present the award and deliver the laudatory speech.
The 2020 award winner
In 2020, the omlox open location standard was awarded the industry prize. This is a global and location technology-independent solution. More than 60 industrial companies were involved in its development. The standard combines all location services available on the market, such as UWB, WLAN; BLE, GPS or 5G. These are converted into a uniform coordinate reference system and can be made available for internal use on edge platforms or for global use in a cloud.
The Hannover Messe Digital Edition will take place from April 12 to 16, 2021.
