Strain reliefs
Makes cable ties superfluous
Igus offers a strain relief system for energy chains in which cables and hoses are inserted into a honeycomb and then firmly sealed. Now a further developed system is coming onto the market to replace the previous variants.
The CFU honeycomb strain relief replaces the cable ties frequently used in the industry to date: whereas previously each cable was fixed individually to the energy chain, with the new solution the cables and hoses are simply inserted into the honeycomb and sealed. The outer walls of the honeycomb cavities gently and firmly wrap around the cables. The honeycomb is quick to install and flexible, as new cables can be easily inserted or replaced. The further improved strain relief combines a compact design with simple and flexible filling. The flush connection with the energy chain connection element means that the strain relief can be used in both self-supporting and gliding applications. The vertical design enables easy scaling for individual chain widths. Different cables are inserted into the vertical rows, the system is closed and then screwed together at the top. Optional clips on the side sections connect the energy chain and strain relief. The system is currently under development for the 'e-chain E4.1L'.
