Fit for the outdoors

With the AX plastic enclosures, Rittal completes its compact enclosure range and replaces the previous KS series. Typical fields of application are waste water drinking water systems, photovoltaics and aggressive environments such as maritime applications and general outdoor use.

The housings are fully suitable for outdoor use thanks to glass fiber reinforced plastic with 7 times higher UV resistance. They therefore have a 'UL F1' outdoor rating (UL 746C). According to Rittal, an integrated rain protection strip on the top and bottom edge of the door protects the seal from dust and rainwater and provides double sealing of the enclosure.
The protective insulation class II up to 1000 V(AC) ensures increased personal protection. The protective insulation and the protection classes up to IP66 and NEMA 4X are retained even when the enclosure is removed. The enclosure is approved in accordance with UL 508A and has fire class V-0 in accordance with UL94 for the North American market.
