Servo terminals
STO safety function included
The servo terminals for the Ethercat terminal system from Beckhoff integrate a complete servo drive for highly dynamic positioning tasks in the standard terminal housing.
With the EL72x1-9014 versions, the STO (Safe Torque Off) safety function is now also available in the compact terminal design, so that safety-related drive solutions can be implemented directly in the Ethercat terminal network. The STO safety function corresponds to a Cat 3/PL d safety level in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13849-1:2015. Safety integration in the terminal form factor, in conjunction with One Cable Technology (OCT), results in space-saving solutions for safety-related drive functions. Compared to a 2-channel shutdown with corresponding contactors in the motor cable, this reduces wiring effort, space requirements and costs, as a single cable from the safety output to the STO input of the servo terminal is sufficient. The "EL7201-9014" servo terminal in a 12 mm terminal housing delivers an output current of up to 2.8 ARMS, while the 24 mm wide "EL7211-9014" version delivers a maximum of 4.5 ARMS. Both are suitable for controlling servomotors from the "AM8100" series.
