The switching and measuring sensor with background suppression works with an operating range of up to 2 m thanks to time-of-flight technology (TOF). This makes it suitable for all applications in intralogistics where long distances need to be covered, for example in driverless transport vehicles for monitoring the position of goods, for controlling robot grippers or for quality control. The sensor from Leuze complies with protection class IP69K. With two independent switching points, it simultaneously performs detection and measurement tasks. This allows shuttles to set and vary their speed via the independent switching points. The sensor's measured values and process data can be transmitted to the machine controller via IO-Link. Thanks to its compact design (11.4 mm x 34.2 mm x 18.3 mm WxHxL), the laser diffuse sensor can also be used where space is limited, for example in the gripper of a robot arm, on shuttles or storage and retrieval machines.
