Photoelectric sensors with IO-Link

Carlo Gavazzi launches the PD30...IO photoelectric sensor series with IO-Link communication.

The series includes energetic diffuse reflection sensors, diffuse reflection sensors with background suppression and retro-reflective photoelectric sensors with and without polarizing filters - some with visible red light and some with infrared light. The photoelectric sensors from Carlo Gavazzi can be used with IO-Link communication for online monitoring and parameterization of the photoelectric sensor as well as for conventional automation systems with standard switching outputs. Users can define the limit values for contamination and temperature alarms themselves. As the sensors have two physical switching outputs, the user can first define the alarm limit values via the IO-Link interface, then the second switching output reports the alarm during normal operation. Alternatively, this information can be transmitted via the IO-Link interface. The application functions speed and length, pattern recognition, divider function and object and gap monitoring are predefined and can be selected via IO-Link.

Integrated monitoring

Failures in industrial heating processes can be reduced if faults and malfunctions are detected at an early stage. However, the basis for predictive maintenance is the constant recording and analysis of data from the various system components.
