Posic is expanding its product range with the IT5602C, a rotary encoder as an SMD component measuring 8 mm x 10 mm x 0.8 mm.

Resolution and maximum speed are programmable up to 22 bits (1 million lines) or 8600 rpm. The output signals are A and B pulses in quadrature and an index pulse synchronized with the A and B edges.
Thanks to the eddy current measuring principle, the encoder is insensitive to interfering magnetic fields and is particularly suitable for integration in direct drives and applications in which magnetic fields or space conditions make the installation of conventional solutions difficult or impossible. Typical areas of application are industrial automation, robotics, mechanical engineering, laboratory automation and medical technology.
