Secure communication between machines

B&R simplifies safe communication between machines and machine parts: With an update to the mapp Safety software, programmable safety functions can also be used in complex machine networks without significant additional effort, according to the provider.

The software improves data exchange between safe control systems. New system parts can also be added at a later date without having to rewrite the safe application. When commissioning a new machine part, the operator simply adjusts the necessary parameters on the user interface. With B&R safety controllers, users can set up to 150 communication connections to other safety controllers. The compact SafeLogic-X safety controllers also support these functions and can be part of a system network. The data is transmitted using the safe openSafety protocol either via Powerlink or UDP.
