Safe Torque Off
Option module for Ethernet/IP
Rockwell Automation introduces a network-enabled Safe-Torque-Off option module that enables safety-related and other functions to be transmitted over the same Ethernet/IP network.
Designed for the Allen-Bradley 'Powerflex 755' and 'Powerflex 755T' drives, this solution increases the safety of employees and machines by allowing torques to be safely switched off without disconnecting the drive from the power supply. This functionality allows a faster restart after safety system interventions. The option module is compatible with Allen-Bradley's 'Guardlogix' and 'Compact Guardlogix' controllers and enables the use of a common IP address for safety and control functions. This reduces the number of ports required. The network-enabled Safe Torque Off option module meets all relevant industry standards according to SIL3 or PLe safety levels and can be used in hardwired and network-based Safe Torque Off applications.
