Compact, safe, and self-monitoring

With the MKTOSFE and MKPTOSFE contact elements from the “MK/MKP” series, Schlegel is introducing two compact solutions to the market that offer enhanced protection for people and machines thanks to their integrated fail-safe protection.

This fault protection system enables continuous monitoring of the connection between the emergency stop switch and the contact block. It detects two critical fault conditions: If the emergency stop switch has not been installed correctly, the system prevents the machine from starting. If the connection is interrupted during operation—for example, due to mechanical damage—a shutdown signal is automatically triggered. The machine is immediately brought to a safe state and can only be restarted once the fault has been rectified. The MKTOSFE with screw terminals enables traditional wiring, while the MKPTOSFE with push-in terminals allows for quick, tool-free installation. Both versions combine a normally open contact with forced opening and a normally closed contact that serves as a monitoring contact for fault shutdown.
