The new SLB 240/440/450 series safety light barriers have an integrated evaluation function and are equipped with safe semiconductor outputs (2 × PNP).

According to the manufacturer, they can be integrated directly into the safety circuit without an external safety evaluation. The 240 and 440 models have the following dimensions: with cable connection 28 mm × 32 mm × 72 mm (W×H×L) or with plug connection 28 mm × 32 mm × 91 mm. They are easy to integrate into confined installation spaces and can be installed quickly even where space is limited. Both models have a range of 15 m, while the SLB 450 (dimensions DL 49 mm × 126 mm) achieves a range of up to 75 m. The single-beam safety light barriers are designed in particular for safeguarding smaller danger zones - such as machines with small openings or slots, for example in paper printing machines. The new product family meets the requirements for all type 2 or type 4 applications in accordance with IEC 61496, but the light barriers are also used for process protection, for example in high-bay warehouses. In addition, the SLB 450 version is optionally equipped with an integrated heater and is suitable for use at sub-zero temperatures (down to -30 °C), for example outdoors.
