Service robots on the verge of a "historic breakthrough"

Service robots for professional applications recorded a significant increase in sales and sales value in 2015. However, the development of service robotics is also rosy in the private sector. Current figures and forecasts from the robotics association IFR show this.

The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) is part of the VDMA Robotics + Automation trade association. Its annual study 'World Robotics - Service Robots' is based on company reports and other sources such as annual reports, market overviews and estimates. The study is produced in collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation.
