Robot production in Europe in the future

Based on the growth of the global robot market, Yaskawa intends to expand its production capacities and open another robot factory in Europe in addition to the existing production facilities in Japan and China.

The new robot factory complements Yaskawa's existing European production plants, which manufacture servo drives, frequency converters, controllers and wind generators.

After a thorough investigation and consideration of various European location alternatives, Yaskawa Europe has decided to make the investment in Slovenia. Negotiations on the specific location are well advanced and should be completed shortly.

The plan is to start production in Europe at the end of 2018 and bring the first robots to the markets. Bruno Schnekenburger, Division President Robotics Europe, comments: "This investment is intended to further expand our proximity to customers in the region. Our aim is to shorten supply chains and delivery times in order to be able to react more quickly to regional market requirements and customer requests."
