Hahn Group takes over Rethink Robotics
On October 3, it was announced that Rethink Robotics - known for the cobot 'Sawyer' - had to discontinue its business activities. Now the German Hahn Group has taken over the Boston-based cobot provider.
Cobots such as Sawyer are regarded as 'smart helpers' in the production of tomorrow.

Thomas Hähn, CEO of the Hahn Group: "The acquisition of Rethink Robotics' robot technology marks an important step for us in the expansion of our collaborative robotics business segment."

As part of the transaction, all patents and naming rights as well as the company's 'Intera' software platform, which enables the intuitive programming of industrial robots, were acquired.
The Hahn Group intends to further develop Rethink Robotics' robot technology and "combine it with German engineering expertise and application experience". Independently of this, there are also plans to sell the software under license to suitable partners.
In addition to the integration business through Hahn Robotics and the rental business through Hahn RobShare, the 'Rethink Robotics' division will thus become the third pillar within the Robotics Division of the Hahn Group in the future.
