After Reuter, Liepert also leaves

Following the departure of Dr. Till Reuter as CEO at Kuka, Dr. Bernd Liepert, the former Chief Innovation Officer, will also be leaving the Augsburg-based robot manufacturer in January 2019 - and other executives will be leaving with him.

Dr. Bernd Liepert had already had to leave Kuka involuntarily in 2009. Reuter brought him back to the company in 2010.

As the Augsburger Allgemeine reported on Friday, in addition to Liepert, Silvia Buchinger (Head of HR), Stefan Müller (Chief Strategist) and Christian Tarragona (Research) are also leaving the company, which is now around 95% owned by the Chinese Midea Group. The 56-year-old Liepert was considered a robot veteran at Kuka, was a close confidant of Reuter and is also President of the European Robotics Association.

In addition to the change in personnel, there is another surprising piece of news: Kuka will no longer have its own stand at the Hannover Messe in 2019. Kuka's Head of Marketing, Wilfried Eberhardt, told Handelsblatt: "In times of change, you have to put everything to the test and consider new formats."
