Jumo
Reliable transmission of switching signals
The two-channel Ex-i isolating switching amplifier from Jumo was specially developed for the float switches of the 'Nesos' series, but also supports all proximity sensors according to the NAMUR standard.
The intrinsically safe isolating switching amplifier complements the supplier 's safety performance portfolio (JSP) and ensures reliable, galvanic 3-way isolation and safe transmission of switching signals in both normal and Ex applications. It can be used in the extended ambient temperature range from -40 to +60 °C, has ATEX and IECEx approval and can also be installed in Ex zone 2.
The connected float switch contact or proximity sensor can be operated up to zone 0. In addition, the Ex-i isolating switching amplifier has UL and DNV-GL approval and meets SIL 2 in safety-related applications. Line fault detection detects line breaks or short circuits and ensures process reliability. Thanks to the integration of two channels in one device, the Ex-i isolating switching amplifier requires very little space during installation. Coded screw terminals and simple configuration with DIP switches save time during commissioning. LEDs indicate the respective status directly on the device.
