Endress+Hauser offers the Proline 100 flowmeters with Profinet technology. According to the manufacturer, the new devices for electromagnetic and Coriolis flow measurement combine a compact, hygienic device design with the advantages of Profinet.

The devices have a digital connection from the controller to the field device without additional components. Device integration data (GSD) is stored directly in the device. The connection is made via standard Ethernet cables and connection components (RJ45 and M12). No additional tools are required for commissioning; parameterization can be carried out offline - in the system even without a device. The parameterization data is saved in the system and then automatically loaded into the device, where the web server is already integrated. Profinet cycle and response times are faster than Profibus DP and faster than current signals between 4 and 20mA. Profinet also enables network expansion without system downtime. According to the manufacturer, any errors that occur can be investigated more quickly than before thanks to access to diagnostic parameters with the new technology; the wiring should also be easier to check with I/O-Check. When devices are replaced, the new device is parameterized automatically or can be controlled remotely.
