Modular bus system expanded

The modular bus system MBS from Georg Schlegel is a proprietary bus system that can be integrated into fieldbus systems such as Profibus DP, AS-Interface or CANopen as well as Industrial Ethernet networks such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Ethercat or Powerlink and IO-Link.

The latest additions to the Industrial Ethernet portfolio are a gateway with an internal 2-port switch, which has an RFID interface and an A/D converter onboard in addition to the actual bus node, and an expansion module, which is also equipped with an RFID interface and has 8 I/Os.

The four variants of the gateway from Georg Schlegel can be connected to Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Ethercat or Powerlink via the RJ45 connection of the 2-port switch. The MBS is routed to the outside via the M12 connection (or the alternative spring terminal) and can be connected to the additional expansion modules. The RFID control integrated in the gateway is based on Schlegel's 'TMS_TCA' system. The eight inputs and outputs of the expansion module can be used to integrate additional control or operating elements.
