IoT Congress
Internet of Things - from the sensor to the cloud
What are the building blocks of the Internet of Things? Which technologies, methods and standards are necessary for implementation? The 'Internet of Things - from sensor to cloud' congress provides answers.
The conference program of this event, organized for the second time by the trade media DESIGN&ELEKTRONIK and Markt&Technik after last year's great success, comprises a total of 23 presentations. These are divided into five sessions in two parallel tracks:
Track 1 is dedicated to technology, methods and standards for the development of IoT applications:
- In Session 1, experts will discuss topics relating to connectivity, i.e. the transfer of data via standards such as Thread & Co. But security, or the design of IoT applications that are protected against attacks, is also a key topic here.
- Session 2 will focus on software and tools. Speakers in this session will discuss topics such as software quality for the IoT, suitable software architectures and development with web-based tools, as well as shedding light on the suitability of open source approaches in the IoT environment.
Track 2 summarizes the following topics under the title "From the sensor to the cloud and back":
- Session 3 deals with architectures and the distribution of applications, in particular with the multi-level architectures that arise on the way from the sensor via usually several gateway and sensor fusion levels to the cloud and back to the actuator, and which must be managed as consistently as possible.
- Session 4 presents some ecosystems and services as well as cloud architectures that cover parts of these tasks, especially for the application area of Smart Home & Living.
- Finally,Session 5, entitled "Data models and semantics", will focus on the activities dedicated to semantic definitions for end-to-end interoperability of data and management models.
Hands-on practical workshop & accompanying trade exhibition
In addition to these two lecture tracks, the event program also offers an intensive hands-on practical workshop in cooperation with the trade journal Computer&AUTOMATION. In this workshop, participants will use the IoT hardware provided to implement an application that sends sensor signals to the cloud and retrieves and displays these values via an app for mobile devices. This attractive workshop with Klaus-Dieter Walter - a proven expert in industrial communication, embedded systems, M2M and IoT application development - provides comprehensive answers and examples of sensor integration in the IoT environment.
In addition, manufacturers will present their latest products, interesting applications and detailed technical solutions at the accompanying trade exhibition.
