Innovasic presents evaluation kit

After TTTech, Innovasic is now another switch provider to present a test kit that includes all the necessary tools to evaluate the features of the future IEEE 802.1 Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards.

The TSN evaluation kit is based on the fido5000 REM switch technology from Innovasic.

Pre-installed on the Innovasic kit are already mature TSN features such as 802.1AS and 802.1Qbv. With the further development of the TSN standards, new features will also be made available, which can be downloaded free of charge from the Innovasic Developer Portal. The TSN standards supported in upcoming updates are:

  • 802.1AS, AS-REV - Time Synchronization
  • 802.1Qbv - Scheduled Traffic (updates)
  • 802.1Qci - Ingress Policing
  • 802.1CB - Seamless Redundancy
  • 802.1Qcc - Centralized Configuration
  • 802.1bu - Pre-emption

When evaluating TSN, the kit is simply used as a TSN gateway. Ethernet-capable devices can be connected to the standard Ethernet port. The other two ports are connected to the TSN network. The aim is that a standard Ethernet device can communicate with any other TSN-enabled device in a TSN network.

The capabilities of TSN will be demonstrated with the evaluation kit at the 'Industrial Ethernet TSN Congress' on September 27th in Stuttgart.
