Yaskawa
Embedded solutions for automation
The current profichip brand communication chips from Yaskawa include the all-in-one chip Triton, the multi-fieldbus communication chip Antaios, the slice bus slave controller Notos and the world's smallest Profibus ASIC VPC3+S.
With 'Triton', Yaskawa offers a compact solution for automation and motion control technology requirements. With its 3-core ARM processor, the chip is suitable for fast and precise real-time calculations for motion control applications. It has a total of 4 Gigabit-capable ports and a real-time Ethernet controller as well as a fast backplane bus master for connecting local peripherals.
'Antaios' enables the implementation of high-performance real-time Ethernet communication protocols such as Profinet IRT or TSN/OPC UA. The real-time Ethernet unit of the chip is programmable, which means that all Ethernet-based protocols can be supported.
The slave controller - in combination with 'Triton' or 'Antaios' as slice bus master - is 'Notos'. In addition to digital I/O, the chip has an 80 Mbit/s SPI interface for analog I/O, safety and serial CP with external MCU. Up to 128 bytes of input and 128 bytes of output data can be transferred.
'VPC3+S' is a communication chip with an 8-bit parallel, SPI or I2C microprocessor interface for intelligent Profibus slave applications. It handles message and address identification, data security procedures and protocol processing for Profibus DP-V0, DP-V1 and DP-V2. Acyclic communication and alarm messages are also supported.
