Intelligent load handling
According to the manufacturer Yaskawa, the CR700 frequency inverter improves productivity, reduces energy and overall costs, enables preventive maintenance measures and increases environmental compatibility thanks to numerous intelligent functions specifically for crane operation.
The frequency inverter controls the mechanical brake for jerk-free lifting and lowering by generating the full torque on the motor shaft before the brake opens; it also focuses on preventive maintenance of the mechanical brake. This allows the crane operator to read out the current number of brake release commands at any time. This makes it easier to plan brake maintenance and increases safety and availability. The new features also include the option of managing up to three different motor parameter sets in one frequency inverter.
The 'CR700' optimizes the crane functions of the 'A1000' series and adds new crane functions. According to Yaskawa, it also has an electronic anti-sway function (load sway damping) and synchronous position control for tandem operation in addition to the extended brake management. The control algorithm in tandem operation allows the position of several crane drives to be controlled simultaneously and at an exact angle. Another new feature is the rope length information with position detection of the hook. The functions are supplemented by automatic load compensation without an encoder. The adaptation of the motor load without the need for a motor encoder distributes the required torque evenly across the trolley drives.
